Hayfield Primary school after school art club

After school art club at Hayfield Primary School runs on a Tuesday, 3:20 - 4:30, and is for any child who loves being creative and exploring all types of art. We will be using a range of art materials, usually following a different theme each term and occasionally abandoning this theme for specific events happening in or around the school. Previously this has seen all children creating art to enter for Apple Day, creating posters for the One World Festival in New Mills, or painting footprint decorations for The Tent People festivals. Children will learn techniques and develop their art skills as well as their confidence. From painting, drawing and sketching to sculpting and model making, each child will learn techniques suitable for their age and ability, so although ages may range from Reception class to Yr 6, activities will often be instructed for their age groups. Children can bring their own snacks with them to eat at the start of the session whilst we get the room ready and discuss what we will be doing (I know how hungry children get after school!) Sibling discounts have been applied for two children, if you have more than 2 children wishing to join please let me know so I can add this option too. This year we will have an art assistant with us, meaning we can accept more children and have extra hands to provide more support to those who need it. Both artist Pippa and assistant Lauren are DBS checked and have appropriate levels of First Aid training.
